Kohl’s is looking to add a dynamic, talented designer who is passionate about creating exciting, brand-right products for our exclusive
Food Network and Bobby Flay brands.

This individual must possess a strong aesthetic sense and an innovative thought process.
Candidiate must be detail oriented and have the ability to manage various projects at one time.
Must have strong awareness of trend and the market place and be able to incorporate this knowledge into the design process.
The designer will manage product from concept through final design.

The right candidate must be able to work well within a team structure, have a broad range of talents and strong presentation skills.

The designer must have experience working in variety of categories and materials and have a working knowledge of various
manufacturing processes.

This individual must be skilled in conceptualizing, sketching, rendering and various computer programs.

Primary Responsibilities
The designer will be responsible for all facets of the design process including market research, concepting and designing product, presenting ideas and product in team meetings and ensuring that all product is designed to fit the Food Network brand.
Researching the market for new trends and materials as well as new product opportunities for the brand.
Develop various color palettes and direction.
Follow up projects though entire design process; from initial concept to approving final production samples.
Actively participate in conceptual development of product lines and be able to sell management partners to adopt a new course of action.
Meet with vendor partners and build design / vendor relationships.
Create inspirational presentaion materials for trend, color and product assortments.
Design into a specific time line and meet deadlines.

Specific Skills
BS/BA in Design
3+ years design experience
Knowledge of various materials and categories such as: housewares, food prep, cookware, tabletop, textiles, electrics, glass, ceramic, metals, wood and plastics.
Computer skills: Knowledge of some or all of the following is helpful- Photoshop, Illustrator, Solidworks, Vellum Graphite
Detail oriented, good follow up skills, strong organizational skills
Good communication skills
Excellent design sense
